I put a few posts on Facebook and Instagram about the Tres Palms Striped Bass tournament this past week but had the actual fishing date incorrect. The captains meeting is right on as Thursday at Tres Palms at 7:30 but the fishing day is Sunday 12/4 not Saturday as I posted. Also the dinner after is not free but $25.Fishing times are 6 am to 1 pm. Entry fee is $25 a person and an optional Calcutta winner take all is $20 per person. So to sum it up $45 dollars to be all in per person and an additional $25 for dinner at the beautiful Tres Palms with complimentary beer with the dinner. Sounds like a great time regardless of how good the fishing may be. I will not be fishing but most likely will be there for the merriment. Danny and his crew are great and really cater to the fishing community. Step it up and support our local fishing, boating friendly restaurant and the O'Donnell family. Location western marsh Hunting Report Headed out for an am hunt with my son Luke and good buddy Tom. We decided to use layout blinds today. Lots of birds flying, We each shot a black duck, total for the morning was 3 black ducks 2 geese and 3 brant. Great morning and good start to the season... Rich Figlia Fire Island & Great South Bay Fishing Forecast November 18th 19th and 20th w/ Captain Al Lorenzetti11/17/2016 I fished today with Paul DeMasi and his son Paul Jr. who is one big guy for a Jr. We had a good time battling the elements as it was a borderline day with a hard west wind. The ocean was not an option for the Skimmer today so we worked the inside and were rewarded with a nice catch of fish on plugs and bait. No monsters but respectable fish. It was good breaking up the day with plugs and bait. It always makes for some interesting fun and great surface action with fish busting surface plugs.
