Captain Al Lorenzetti Fire Island & Great South Bay Fishing Forecast Aug 25th, 26th and 27th w/ Captain Al Lorenzetti8/24/2017 I fished today with Annie Zabar her son Lucas, Uncle Ray,and nephew Harry and we beat them up. Six nice keeper fluke to 5 pounds and big bluefish. It was a fun morning with lots of action and some nice fish to boot. A good body of fish has moved into Fire Island Inlet and it looks like it will be hot fishing from here to the end of the season on September 21. There was small bait stacked up and peanut bunker starting to move out. Blues and fluke were on the bait. We did well and it was a fun morning.
Great to be fishing with Annie again. Captain Al Lorenzetti Location
The Fingers Fishing Report Worked the fluke over good SW of the inlet on eclipse day but the highlight of the day was this guy that approached the boat and started calling for his friends! Gene Boniberger I had the opportunity to test drive the 41 Regulator at Suffolk Marine. Jimmy Lettieri the owner gave us the OK and Captain Rich Santos and I and George Yurcak took her out for a spin. The boat is magnificent and powered by 4 Yamaha 350 outboards. We backed out of the slip and did a 180 degree turn in the length of the boat using the joystick. You can literally walk the boat sideways using the joystick. We maneuvered the length of Sumpwams Creek using the joystick. When we passed the Village Municipal Dock I switched to conventional controls and brought her up on a plane. It has an automatic system that keeps the boat level and in trim automatically. Coming on a plane the boat stayed level in the bow and I never lost sight of the horizon as happens on many other large boats. I looked at the GPS and saw we were doing 40 mph and couldn't believe it. It felt like we were doing only 25 mph. We topped out at well over 50 mph into a stiff wind and chop and the boat handled incredibly well. If you have the opportunity you should stop down at Suffolk Marine and check out this incredible boat and all the other great boats they have for sale. This chair sold for $22,000 new and it is now just as good as new and asking price is $15,000. It is really an incredible piece of work. If I had the bucks I would put it in my living room. It would be a great addition for a high end man-cave.
