I fished today with Eric Johnson who made a trip from the Boston area in order to catch weakfish. Eric is an accomplished fisherman having fished far and near for all kinds of amazing game fish. We had a good time sharing past fishing experiences and it was a successful morning of fishing. We did catch weakfish and a couple of real nice fluke as well both at about 22 inches. Also had a small bluefish, sea robin and seabass for the Great South Bay Super Slam!
Another excellent day on the water with company of an excellent fisherman. Captain Al Lorenzetti I had a good day of fishing today. Went out early alone and found bunker in the ocean. I fished the pods and it was not hot but had one fish just under 30 pounds west of Fire Island Inlet today. That was it, lots of bait but not a lot of fish however it is a start. I think the fishing will be good next week and should last into July.
Went back home and headed out again with Captain Rich Santos. We worked the inside and found some weakfish and it was a full day with nice weather and was a lot of fun.
