Another great day on the water with a great crew.

I fished today with Brendan Jr., Brendan Sr., and John. We found the bunker in the ocean and caught a bunch of fish to 38 pounds. The ocean kicked up and we ran inside and added a couple more fish.

Fire Island & Great South Bay Fishing Forecast October 28th 29th and 30th w/ Captain Al Lorenzetti10/27/2016 Striped BassFire Island & Great South Bay Fishing Forecast October 21 22 and 23 with Captain Al Lorenzetti10/20/2016 I fished yesterday with Kevin Ryan and his pal Bill. We had a good time catching fish on plugs. Not the biggest fish but fun hitting top swimming Danny plugs in two feet of water and perfect size for the table. The bait bite was a bust sorry to say. Lots of bait around the bay and inlet. Huge schools of peanut bunker now in the ocean.
Bill was a great help as he was on it all day. Pulling the anchor, cleaning the decks and catching fish. He may be my mate next season. Kevin is always awesome and we had a good time. Fishing is not great but getting better and the big fish are just east of us. The next three weeks are going to be awesome. This is what we wait for all season. It is setting up great. Bunker in the back by heading out bass, coming from the east and it is show time. I love this stuff. Captain Al Lorenzetti There are not many anglers with the tuna fishing experience of John Nappo owner of Trophy Tackle. John has fished many long range tuna trips on the west coast and knows the best rig to use when chunking for tuna.

We had them on bait and plugs but the wind was howling and the boat traffic was horrible. Yesterday fishing with Ed Russo, his son Mike and friend Angelo we had better luck with 15 bites and a limit of fish on plugs and bait. This coming week and the remainder of October and all November should be hot fishing if the weather cooperated. The wind just doesn't let up and the storms offshore have the ocean up. Its called fishing and you have to deal with the conditions. So far so good and it will get better.
Captain Al Lorenzetti The bite is on. Had fish on plugs and bait today. Good action and dropped a big fish at the boat on a pulled hook probably 35 plus. No photos as I was too busy with three anglers and running around like a nut. May have a photo later. We missed a bunch as many are smaller but that is expected but part of the act.
Another great day on the water with a great crew Ed, Mike and Angelo. Captain Al Lorenzetti |
