I fished today with Frank Sloup Jr. and his girlfriend Kelly both visiting from Arizona. I know Frank since he was a high school kid and haven't seen him in 20 years so it was a great day being with them. The fishing was also great. We had fluke to 6 pounds around the inlet and seabass to 4 pounds on some ocean pieces. The weather couldn't have been better.
Another great day on the water with a great crew. Captain Al Lorenzetti Fire Island & Great South Bay Fishing Forecast July 29th, 30th, and 31st with Captain Al Lorenzetti7/29/2016 I fished today out of Saltaire with Doug Modico and his kids Jackson, Maggie and Nate. It was pretty slow with the fluke today but we were rewarded with a 10 pound weakfish as a bonus for this trip. We also caught a sea monster, a giant eel that weighed at least six or seven pounds. It was scary.
Another great day on the water with an excellent crew. Captain Al Lorenzetti Stewart was determined, and he succeeded. He caught this 22 inch fluke on Gulp in the fire island inlet. His granddaughter Rosa somehow managed this bite size flattie, All the fish that were caught on the Pelican were released.
Tim I fished today with Mike Caruso and his wife Joyce out of Seaview on Fire Island. We had a great day catching a couple of striped bass and a nice fluke. It was a beautiful day and we were rewarded with some nice fish. We had fun watching all the porpoises frolicking in the ocean around the pods. Mike and Joyce are the owners and publishers of "The Fisherman" magazine and website. They are great people and are really intent on making "The Fisherman" the best source for all fishing related news and information. Anyone can see the great changes that have happened and there are plans to even make it better.
Another great day on the water with a great crew. Captain Al Lorenzetti I fished with Captain Rich Santos on his boat and we had a good day. Caught some seabass on a local wreck and then went looking for fluke in the ocean. We were really surprised to find a nice body of fish and marked lots of bait near the bottom. My guess is the bait is sand eels and squid. We had some real nice keepers and it was a beautiful day on the ocean.
Another great day on the water with a great crew. Captain Al Lorenzetti If you were wondering where all the boat traffic was on Saturday you had to look no further than Hemlock Cove. Hundreds of boaters gathered for one of the biggest raft-ups in the northeast. Money was raised to help with the medical expenses of Cathryn Bay. I arrived to check out Hemfest on my RIB about at the height of the big party (1:30pm), I was crazy and everyone was being safe and having a great time.
