I got an invite for a hunt with Mike Babich and his son Anthony. It was a great day and a fun hunt. The wind was wicked hard and probably kept some birds grounded but we had a good hunt none the least. Mike and Anthony really have it together and everything was extremely well organized. The Babich family has a great love of the outdoors and are well respected in the outdoor sporting community. Anthony is also an exceptional outdoor photographer and videographer. It has been a brutal early season with record cold and frozen waters. We are all trying to make the best of it and having some fun. We need a thaw or the season may be over before it began. I hunted the north side and broke ice for two hours the day before to have a hunting site. I got there and there were a few birds flying. Got joined by some friends and we ganged up for a couple of hours and bagged some Hoodies and black duck. On the weekend Chris Spies and Bill MacDougal, Anthony Babich, Jim Ellie And Rob, hope I got the names right, invited me to join them for a hunt around the inlet on a cold and blustery day. We had fun and the birds flew in late morning. Chris is a real gentleman and a truly rugged outdoor master under all conditions. Billy Mac is also a total die hard. Anthony B. shot some great video and we had a good time. Camaraderie is the name of the game especially when conditions are tough. Thank you guys and gals for a fun morning!
