Opening Day Duck Hunting on Long Island

Another Duck season finally upon us! Been scouting the last few weeks.. Set up away from the sky busters who of course began shooting before legal shooting time at brant 100 yards away! Despite that we had great success with black ducks and mallards.. Great start to the first 2 days for us...It was my buddy Vinny Ciccolella's first duck hunt, he is a great shot and will be a true puddle duck hunter.. Looking forward to many more days in the marsh... Good luck and be safe...

George and I had a great day, We started inside on the pods and it was tough with the wind. The bait and fish were there but very hard to get on them right. We dropped one fish and then said let's go looking. We ran to the inlet and beyond and found bunker pods in the ocean and beat up on the fish. Probably 15 bass and a few blues. A good cold day of bass fishing in November. Still lots of bait and fish inside so the fishing should be good for a couple of weeks. I have a few open days so if you want to catch some nice bass now is the time to give me a call.

Another excellent day on the water.

The Bunker and Bass are back on the outside

I fished today for a few hours with Anthony DeBlasio trying to replicate the day AL had yesterday. Just a little bait inside but to the west on the outside the bunker schools were being pushed up on the beach. We had 2 fish in the twenties. Capt. Al and George Yurcak were still working the pods when we left. It will be interesting to hear their final tally.

Bass in the bay!

I fished today with Carl Curcio and his friend Jeff. We had a good day of striped bass fishing. The bunker are in the bay and inlet area. The last of the flood and start of the ebb was good and we left the fish biting. Nice fish from 20 to 25 pounds. It could be a hot bite for the next few days.
