The series of winter and spring storms that have raked the Island had a noticeable impact on some of our South Shore inlets, Fire Island being one example. Steven Bartlett shot this drone footage over the weekend of the fire island inlet. if you're not already aware there has been major sholling and narrowing of the inlet and unlike moriches there are no immediate plans for dredging. the Coast Guard is recommending to stop at the six bouy and assess the conditions before making your way out. coming back in the inlet can be worse so plan your return around wind and tide accordingly

We all 40 of us men and woman had a great time today at Spring Farm for a duck and pheasant outing. The weather was great and the venue was terrific. all of you are invited again for next year on February 10 for the same kind of event. Put it in your calendar right now. Thanks to all for a great day.
Captain Al Lorenzetti Rich Figlia of Lindenhurst caught this 14" flounder on the opening day of the season in the western Great South Bay. The tide was outgoing when the flattie fell to a sand worm. Rich said" the fish was lethargic" maybe because the water temperature was only 45-48 degrees.
