I fished today with my pal Rich Santos. We went into the ocean looking for fluke way to the east of Fire Island Inlet and we found nothing. It was very disappointing. We went as far as Cherry Grove from 50 to 85 feet and did not have one fish.
We then saw some bunker pods and snagged a few.
I moved to a good piece of bottom that is sometimes fish and we had some fun with bass and a sea monster. This eel ate a bunker chunk and it was pretty scary. At first I thought is was a Moray eel but upon closer examination I figured it as a very large female American eel. I have never seen one this big. It weighed almost 9 pounds and was like an Anaconda.

We made the best of the day and had fun.
Another great day on the water.
