I fished today out of Seaview with Bob and Jim (right to left).

We found some bait and a few bass in the ocean. Luckily the wind forecast held off for most of the morning.

We moved back into the inlet and finished out the morning with not much else. The fluke fishing is very slow. We tried for weakfish with live peanut bunker but didn't connect with that and we headed back.

Another good day on the water.

I fished out of Oak Beach today with Carl Curcio.

We had a good day with some striped bass action and good bottom fishing in the ocean.

Her is Carl with an upper teen striper and also had another smaller and missed two other fish.

There were massive schools of bunker in the ocean today with whales feeding on them and a few bass. I looks like a few fish are starting to move.

I got a report that there was a night bite on eels in Moriches inlet so I think the fish are moving our way and we are just seeing a trickle now but next week there may be some more fish in our area.

Another good day on the water.

I fished today with my pal Rich Santos. We went into the ocean looking for fluke way to the east of Fire Island Inlet and we found nothing. It was very disappointing. We went as far as Cherry Grove from 50 to 85 feet and did not have one fish.

We then saw some bunker pods and snagged a few.

I moved to a good piece of bottom that is sometimes fish and we had some fun with bass and a sea monster. This eel ate a bunker chunk and it was pretty scary. At first I thought is was a Moray eel but upon closer examination I figured it as a very large female American eel. I have never seen one this big. It weighed almost 9 pounds and was like an Anaconda.

We had a couple of teen size bass and one nice one at 32 pounds. It looks like there are a few bass starting to move. Hopefully this bodes well for the fall run which should be starting real soon.

We made the best of the day and had fun.

Another great day on the water.
