The fishing season is just around the corner.
I am looking forward to one of the best fishing in decades. The inlet will be opened up and deep water will allow all kinds of fish to invade the inshore and back bay areas. With the breach in Old Inlet the bay has cleaned up and looks like the Bahamas.
The deep water inlet at Fire Island will allow a natural flow of clean water and a passageway for the fish to come through the narrows all day and night.
The current flow will be strong and make the rips set up for great plug fishing and move the bait and make the big predators want to feed.
The bunker schools should be outside in the ocean and with a big inlet they will invade the back bay areas. Big fluke will also venture into the back bay areas and this fishing should be excellent.
All the other species will be back in our waters so now is the time to book a date to catch some trophy fish.
