4th of July Surprise

Phil Heilpern with a Bass that pin a 30 pound Boga

Spent the Holiday weekend on Fire Island at Kismet  and ran into  Phil Heilpern at the Inn. Phil invited me to fish with him Sunday morning on his Regulator. We left the marina at 5:15 am to target the schools of bunker east of the inlet. We received a Tip from Will 'Captain Surly' the day before that the Bass were back under the Bunker Schools. Phil and I kept working east until we found pods with Bass feeding on the schools of Bunker.

We caught and released 4 fish of which 3 pinned the 30 pound Boga and where pushing 40 pounds. We where back at the dock by  8:30 am.
