Captain Al and I fished out of FI Inlet on Monday and found plenty
of bunker schools of which mostly held bluefish with an occasional
bass mixed in. There were small false albacore all over the place
which provide some reel light tackle fun. But the word is out and the
fall run has started in Montauk.
Billy, from Appearance Plus, and I spent Tuesday and today out
there and although it was windy we crushed the bass. Eels worked well,
especially at night. It was total Lock and Load and on 4 tides of
fishing we landed some 50 fish. We found the night bite the best under
the full moon on the flood tide, unbelievable fishing. During the day
we tried some tricks with porgies for bigger fish and found them. Here
is Billy with a fish of 46lbs- 49 ½ inches had it bin a little fatter
it would have tip the scales easily at 50+. I will be headed out to
Montauk again next week and if anyone else is around and wants to hook
up give a call. I will keep you posted.
Get ready guys the fish are on there way, now is the time to start
booking your trips with Captain Al!
