Old Inlet

Billy and I went to the extreme to find some bass. As you can see from the photos (you can see the old dock in the foreground) we were in the new inlet that breached Fire Island from Super Storm Sandy. From the aerial photo you can see the area is surrounded by sand bars like a Delta both on the North and South side of FI. In order for use to get to "The Spot" from the North side we had to get out of my 22 Whaler and push it over the sand bars. The results were spectacular with a number of Bass from 38 to 45 Lbs.

Just a word here; please use extreme caution if you intend on duplicating this method for there are a number of submerge rocks and pilings in this area and getting into the ocean is quite dangerous.
