Braven makes a portable backup battery that you can use to charge or power your devices when you are off of the grid. What sets the BRV Bank apart from other back up battery packs is its ultra rugged design, including its water resistancy to IPX standards. The Braven Bank is the perfect solution for the outdoor enthusiast. For boaters that may not have a 12 volt port -especially small boats or personal watercraft- this backup power supply is IPX5 is rated, which means that when the rubber flap that is protecting the ports is closed, the BRV Bank can handle rain and saltwater spray; it will not float, however.
The Braven BRV Bank can handle a beating as well. The ultra rugged design and rubber exterior will allow the BRV-BANK to survive drops and other abuse with ease.
The power bank has a 6000 mAh battery inside that that will charge your phone multiple times and extend your tablet or iPad usage for many hours. The unit itself also retains a charge for an extensive time. In my tests, the BRV BANK was almost fully charged after sitting for a month without use. There are two USB ports available, a 2.4 amp port for more power hungry devices and quick charging, and a 1 amp port for powering and charging those less demanding devices.
The BRV-BANK can also be controlled by bluetooth for added features. The Android or iOS app can give you the exact amount of power remaining, plus a find a mode that will sound an alarm if you have missed placed it. The BRV-BANK has a built in motion detector that will sound the alarm if jostled, Barven calls this “bear” mode.
The power pack also includes a small USB L.E.D. light, when used with the app, the BRV-BANK can emit an S.O.S. light pattern, a feature that you hope to never use.
The Braven BRV-BANK is always packed with me when I travel and when I am out on the water giving me peace of mind.
