I fished today with Captain John Raguso of the Fisherman magazine and Tim Smith of Skimmeroutdoors.com as video and camera man.

We did a light tackle shark trip to the near shore area about 18 miles southeast of Fire Island Inlet.

We had a great time catching and tagging 2 small makos and a thresher shark. The makos were about 50 pounds, and 70 pounds and the thresher about 125.

We caught all on tuna jigging sticks and had a great time. There were loads of tinker mackerel in the chum slick and when they disappeared  we knew the sharks were in the chum slick.

A great day of fishing and this will make for a great Fisherman TV show for August.

Today Captain Al Lorenzetti had Captain John Raguso on  board. The pair shot an episode of the Fisherman TV to shown on the Fisherman's website in August. There was lots of life 18 miles out to the south east. Tinker Mackerel were around the boat all day along with Finback whales and turtles. by lunch time they hooked 2 Makos and a Thresher. All fish were tagged and released unharmed and lived happily ever after.

Fluke Fishing Fire Island Inlet with Gulp Pink Mullet baits

Today I fished out of Saltaire with Doug Modico and his sons Jackson and Nate (left to right).

We had a good time fishing for fluke and were rewarded with four nice keepers. Two exceptional fish at 4 pounds for Nate and a great 6 pound fish for Jackson. The photo does not do the fish justice as they were really big and fat.

I am fishing "Spro"bucktails with a pink 4 inch Gulp mullet up above and it has been a serious good combination for big fish.

Finally no fog to deal with and a perfect weather day.

Another memorable day on the water with a great family.
