Today I did some scouting around the back bay areas with a pal of mine, Billy Gambrill. We were pleasantly surprised with big hard fighting bluefish in the 8 to 12 pound class. It was a blast with the fish beating on Danny plugs and wax wing jigs. The water is gin clear which always makes me feel good about fishing. It was a beautiful sight to see the lit up fish in the clean water beating on the plugs and jigs. We were pulling them from 15 feet deep because the visibility was so good. There were fish on the Bayshore flats south of Bayberry Point and as far west as Babylon and in the north/south channels. No bass today but they will be here shortly. I anticipate a great spring run and excellent fishing in the back country where it is most fun. I'm getting a lot of bookings for June and early July which is the peak of the spring run so if you want a prime date now is the time to give me a call or email me to set a date to fish. Another great day on the water. Captain Al Lorenzetti While on a shoot on Lake Erie for the Fisherman Magazine I had the opportunity to see first hand how well Fluorocarbon works. When I viewed the underwater GoPro footage there is not even a trace of the line, amazing.
