The Largest one day Bass tournament in the north east is back after being canceled due to the devastation of Sandy. The morning started off sloppy with a stubborn east wind that slowly subsided as the day went on. Most of the action was on the outside along the beach on diamond jigs. Curt Selafani aboard the "Blue Crush" had heaviest Bass. The big Striper  fell to a jig off of Sailors Haven and weighed in at 44 3/4 pounds. Chris Hooker on the boat "Spent" had second place with a 35 1/2 pounder caught off Gilgo. The third place fish was caught in the bay by John Willis near the wreck buoy and tipped the scale at 34 1/2 pounds. Check out the link below for the final standings and more images.

Thursday’s debut episode opens in Clinton Connecticut as New England editor Toby Lapinski and local ‘tog sharpie John Frione share a highly specialized jigging technique for blackfish that scores big with bulldogs and works throughout the region. Senior editor Fred Golofaro and bass fishing guru John Paduano are up next, demonstrating the effectiveness of “snap jigging,” a highly aggressive method that can rock tough-to-tempt stripers, weaks, fluke and blues. Try this technique if you want to be fully engaged in the task at hand but be forewarned, it is a real workout.
