Our first 2 spots were iced in so we found a new spot and it turned out ok. Lots of ducks flying, we managed 2 mallards a Black Duck and John got a nice drake Gadwall. When the tide shifted so did the ice and we called it a day because the ice was dragging the decoys.. Rich.

Hunting Report
Did an afternoon hunt with my buddy John. Tried a new spot today, after setting up a pair of widgeons flew in and I shot my first one, a drake. Today lots of ducks flew into our spread, lots of action. John had a pair of mallards and a Black duck. We left them flying today.. Total 3 Mallards (2 drakes) 2 blacks and the drake widgeon. Great hunt, great weather, great camaraderie... Rich

Hunting Report
Had a great hunt today with my buddy John. Set up in the dark again in a spot we knew we could get out of with this west wind emptying the bay. By shooting time the black ducks and Mallards were coming in and cupping 15-20 yards away.. Got our limit of blacks and I got my first Drake Mallard which im having mounted.. Great action today and awesome just watching the ducks commit to our decoys.. Hope the cold weather sticks around..

Headed out in the dark this am with my buddy John, his birthday is today.. set up and just after shooting time 6 black ducks land in our decoys, somehow we missed them! Next a lone black decoys in and somehow he escapes.. Next one headed in I tell John to get ready, I throw down the flap just before he lands and john knocks him down this time. Things got slow and tide was dropping fast with west wind so we called it a day.. Here is a pic of John with his Black Duck.. Cold weather looming around this week should pick things up....

Been waiting 10 months for this day.. Wind was cranking out of the west. We set up in the dark and with a falling tide conditions were good. Shooting time came and Black ducks were flying in, had our limit of 1 each and watched as more landed in our decoys. Good opener, looking forward to many more good days..

Today we did a sea duck hunt on my buddy's boat the "Catapult". It's a 36 foot aluminum cat boat with twin Yanmar diesels and Mercury Bravo 2 drives.  Great boat to hunt off and fast to the hunting grounds at 30 knots.

Rich Santos, Billy Gambrill and Captain Al had a blast as the ducks were flying real good.

I had the pleasure of hunting Butta Acres with Jeff Butta and he connected with a huge bodied 7 pointer. He was actually hunting this deer after seeing it the nite before.
He made a zen like heart shot with a stick bow and collected his trophy in short order.
