While most striper tournaments occur in the fall Suffolk Marine Anglers has been holding their competition in the month of June for last eight years. The excitement begins with a shotgun start 6:00 am on Sunday June 11th 2017 from the Babylon Village Dock. Boundaries are from Moriches inlet to East Rockaway (Debs) inlet and participants must weigh their catch in by 3:30pm. Last year fisherman’s competed for nearly $20,000 dollars in prize money. Once again money will be raised for Hospice Care Network, a great non profit close to many of the anglers hearts.
There will also be a catch and release category The winner will receive a prize for the largest in length released striped bass. There are also many other chances to cash in, including a slot fish category, Calcuta blue fish category and a mystery fish.
The captains meeting will be held at Miller’s Ale House in Deer Park at Thursday June 8th 7:30pm.
